The following represents a small subset of projects undertaken by the company and its principals:

Identity and Access Management

Western Australian Office of eGovernment. Development of an Identity and Access Management Framework and Action Plan covering all internal and external users of ICT systems and networks for the WoWAG.

The Victorian Government to develop a whole-of-Victorian Government Identity Management Framework.

The Department of Justice in the Victorian Government to develop an Identity Management Strategy.

Australian Government Information Management Office on four matters to do with its Identity Management for Australian Government Employees (IMAGE) initiative. The parts of the assignment covered:

  • Development of a specification to enable the central storage and transfer of employee and contractor information between agencies to support cross-agency personnel transfers and the granting of cross-agency physical and logical access control.
  • Development of technical options for an interoperable identity token for all employees and contractors based upon the US Government’s FIPS201 and PIV2 standards.
  • Development of technical options for a WoAG infrastructure to support the employee/contractor information store and messaging requirements and to support the interoperable token.
  • Development of audit guidelines covering the above.

Development of a national Learner Identity Management Framework for MCEETYA-AICTEC. This covered all Education sectors and providers across all jurisdictions in Australia.

External Party Credential Feasibility Study for the Victorian Government Office of the Chief Information Officer.

Unique Student Identifier Project, undertaken for the Department of Education and Training Victoria. This project was designed to assess the case for introducing a unique student identifier (USI) into the Victorian education and training system, and to develop options for the future directions for student identification in Victoria.

Advising on patient and provider identifier initiatives for the National E-Health Transition Authority.

Authentication

National Office for the Information Economy to develop the Australian Government Authentication Framework (AGAF). This included a full Privacy Impact Assessment encompassing consultation with representatives of and advocates for citizens and businesses.

Australian Government Information Management Office on seven major task areas including:

  • Consultation with Businesses on Privacy aspects of the AGAF; and
  • Development of Better Practice Guides to Authentication for Australian Government Agencies and Australian Businesses. The BPG for Agencies includes a full chapter on evaluating and responding to Privacy and Public Policy Impacts of an agency’s implementation of the AGAF.

Centrelink to undertake:

  • Development of an Authentication Strategy covering customers, agents and community organisations, modelled around the AGAF.
  • Privacy Impact Assessment of a proposed caller authentication application based on voice-prints (through Convergence)

Victorian WorkCover Authority’s – review proposed approach to authentication of clients, based upon the use of the AGAF Better Practice Guides developed by Convergence.

Smart Cards

Australian Government Information Management Office - Australian Government’s IMAGE (Identity Management for Australian Government Employees & Contractors) initiative. Examination of smart card options and issues associated with enabling cross-agency physical and logical access.

Centrelink – Development of specifications, RFQ and costings for Centrelink concessions smart card

VicRoads and Multimedia Victoria – Examination of the feasibility of a smart card driver’s licence. This included examination of identity document issues with the Victorian Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Victorian Government and Australian Government Department of Health and Aging – Development of concept of patient and provider health smartcard. Development of smartcard, provisioning technology and interfaces to doctor, hospital and pharmacy systems. Deployment and pilot over 18 months with patients and providers Southern Health Care Network.

Online Council of ICT Ministers - Development of national Smart Card Strategy.

Multimedia Victoria – Development of Smart Card Strategy for Victoria.

Development of original e-Government strategies for most governments in Australia.

Development of demand measurement and value measurement approaches.

Credit Union Movement – development of e-banking strategy covering all 400 credit unions.

Provision of negotiating advice to telecommunications organisation as part of their dispute resolution process.

Economic Impact Studies Consulting

Development of Economic Impact Studies covering major sectoral implementations of ICT and e-services.

Development of training and support materials including Better Practice Guides covering all of the service areas covered by the company. Delivery of awareness raising and training covering all of the service areas covered by the company.
